AOne Bak Kut Teh

As my sis likes to say, "Singapore's Bak Kut Teh is more of a "pepper soup" than the traditional herbal soup". So for people who do not like the taste/the smell of the herb, this Bak Kut Teh may be the one for you! (If you love pepper too.)

(Start from bottom left anti-clockwise): Claypot Bak Kut Teh pork rib soup,
Claypot chicken cubes, You tiao (dough fritter), White Rice

The Bak Kut Teh is served in a small claypot with about 3 pork ribs. The soup is very peppery with minimal to no hint of herbal taste. I love the soup as I'm a huge fan of pepper. The chicken cubes is nicely cooked and the chicken is not dry at all. The you tiao was not very oily but it wasn't very crispy either. Having said that it's not crispy, at least it's not 'rubbery' where it's very hard for you to chew.

Flower Tea
I don't really like the taste of the flower tea. I have no idea what is inside the pot and could only recognise the rose bud in it. It has a slight hint of bitter taste. I was told that the fruit tea taste better.

Other than bak kut teh, they do sell other items too. For example, porridge and yong tau foo. So, there's quite a lot of variety to choose from, just in case one of your family members/ friends don't like bak kut teh but you want have a get together here!
